TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Payments and Deposits:
    • I require an initial deposit to be paid before the start of bookings to secure booking dates for clients and assure availability. Deposits represent 50% of the total course cost.
    • Payment of the total course cost is due 30 days before the date of the booking. I accept bank transfers.
  2. Cancellation by Me:
    • In the unlikely event I have to cancel a course, I will notify the client of the cancellation as soon as possible, where I believe there there to be reasonable grounds that cancellation is necessary due to dangerous and / or unsuitable conditions for the course activity.
    • Upon cancellation the client will be offered the option to reschedule the course / booking or receive a full refund.
    • I am not liable for any extra costs incurred such as travel or accommodation related expenses.
  3. Cancellation by Client:
    • I will only accept booking cancellations submitted in writing or via email. I will confirm any cancellation in writing or via email once it has been received.
    • Once notified of the cancellation, we will try to resell the course place. In the event that we are able to resell the course place prior to the start date, you will receive a full refund.
    • If we are unable to resell the course place: 
      • Where notice is less than 30 days no refund will be given.
      • If notice is 31 days or more, we will refund your payment in full.
    • Refunds will be made on or before the date the course commences.
  4. Insurance and Loss:
    • I hold full Public Liability Insurance. I would advise any client to take out their own Personal Accident / Cancellation Insurance for added security. If they already have insurance, I advise to check that it covers the activity to be undertaken. I do not include any personal accident, cancellation, third party liability or other insurance.
    • I will accept no responsibility whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to personal property.
  5. Health and Safety.
    • The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) Participation Statement issued by the BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of, and accept these risks and be responsible for their own involvement.
    • By booking a course clients are aware and accept these risks and will be responsible for their own actions & involvement. I will teach clients how to manage these, but can never completely remove them.
    • Clients are responsible for the full disclosure of any medical conditions or disabilities that Instructors needs to be aware of to assure personal and group safety during courses and guided bookings.
    • I reserve the right to omit or cancel bookings at any time if clients engage in aggressive, disrespectful, discriminatory, or otherwise unacceptable behavior towards instructors or fellow participants. This includes, but is not limited to verbal abuse, physical threats, harassment, or any actions that compromise the safety or well-being of our team members. In such cases, I reserve the right to refuse service and cancel bookings without refund. I am committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all participants and appreciate client cooperation in upholding these standards.
  6. Photographs and Images
    • I will be using images and videos taken during courses and guided days on my social media and North Over Outdoors website. These will be used for the promotion of my courses. I reserve the right to use photos and videos for future advertisement purposes unless contacted in writing by yourself stating otherwise.
    • I value your privacy – if you would not like to be in any photos, videos or tagged on social media posts, please advise me in advance.
